Unlocking the magic of my ancestors🗝

I am a living breathing connection to my ancestors. My passion for plants, magic, and healing are rooted in my blood.

As I read books like this one about Mexican Magic, it connects me to my grandmothers essence. I am reminded of the limpias con huevo (egg cleansings) that were done by her as she said Spanish prayers over our bodies, sweeping and removing any illness or sickness we encountered. Stories about my great grandmother who was a curandera, passing out herbs to those who came to see her, it all reminds me of my roots and why I am so called to working with all the plant allies. Here’s to deepening those roots more and more each day.

The other day I had a rough parenting day, the kind of day that brings you to your knees, the day where your children touch on every trigger you have, where you find yourself sobbing on the floor, unable to find the strength to lift yourself up - physically and emotionally. The kind of day that the silent volcano erupts from within and a spew of rage is released.

This day my husband came home to find me wallowing in despair and listened to me as my words were hardly recognizable, holding space for me to be as raw as I wanted to be. Instead of trying to make me feel better or offer solutions or try to “fix” anything, he said the words that I most needed to hear as he held me in his arms…

“What can I do to support you?”

And those words right there jolted me out of my victim mentality. I immediately thought this is how you show up for your partner. This is why I chose you. This is why we are together. This is why I love you.

I’m so grateful that this man is in my life and that he is forever showing me how to be loved. Navigating the sea together.

(And I love that the shirt he is wearing is my birthday 2/14😉)

My little boy has recently been boycotting nap tim

My little boy has recently been boycotting nap time so my sacred time has been interrupted (parents you know exactly how critical that time can be for your sanity🤣) So now I just integrate him into my practices and he has been participating in my cacao ceremonies lately. Of course I sweeten his and give him a tiny serving watered down but he loves it. I love teaching him the sacredness of this drink and how special it is❤️
